Here are some really wonderful
photographs of our canine friends

SPOCK
Andrew
very kindly sent in a lovely photograph of his companion Spock, which
we have now 'beamed down' onto the site! Andrew also comments
about our canine friends:
"These
are remarkable animals. A few years ago two Australian scientists
proposed a new hypothesis regarding development of the human
brain. They stated that a long time ago dogs got attached to us
as companions. There developed a kind of co-dependence; mainly
food scraps versus sense of smell. Eventually we humans stopped using
our (pretty good then) sense of smell and this quite large part of our
brain was reassigned to other things. After millennia elapsed, humans
aquired self awarness. So they say we did not domesticate dogs, but dogs 'humanised ' us. Nice!
Thanks for the opportunity to send
Spock's picture."
That explanation helps to show what an important bond there is between
people and dogs. 'Fascinating Captain'.

TOMMY
& PENNY
Steve Robertson very
kindly sent in this photograph of his two beautiful greyhounds.
The black one is Tommy, who was known as Black Grape when racing.
The white one is Penny, she was known as Two The Bank when racing.
They are both retired from racing now and make the most marvellous
companions. You can see more of Steve's excellent photos on
his web page: http://www.eastbeach.co.uk
